Lija is a part time: Artist, Entrepreneur, Chartered Accountant and Tax Advisor, and is a Trust Manager at Michelmores LLP.  Lija artistic focus is painting local scenes, landscapes and townscapes in earthy hues. The paintings, prints and cards depict nostalgic and timeless memories. In the professional sphere her particular interest is in trusts and estates, FATCA and CRS reporting, and life assurance bonds written into trusts.

She is passionate about building communities, creativity and enterprise and has been involved in voluntary and business ventures for many years. Her endeavours over the years included family business partnership, director and treasurer of Wiltshire Makers CIC, volunteering with Tax Help for Older People, trustee and treasurer of Footprints Project, and Chair of Salisbury Young Professionals, to name but a few.

Lija loves the idea of slow and simple life amidst the everyday bustle, heritage crafts, traditions passed down generations, and all things natural and homemade. Artistic endeavours begun at a very early age, and although Lija was the youngest to be admitted to 'Saules Skola' School of Design and Art (Latvia), ultimately her interest in art lay outside of academia. Lija pursued a degree in Mathematics (MMath) from Durham University and a Graduate Diploma in Finance, Accounting and Business from Newcastle University, all whilst exhibiting, organising shows and events. Lija has exhibited in the UK from the age of 16 and is at present a member of the Plain Arts Salisbury.
