About
Lija is a Chartered Accountant and Tax Advisor, and is a manager at S&W. Her particular focus is on trusts and estates, FATCA and CRS reporting, and life assurance bonds. She is passionate about building communities, creativity and enterprise and has been involved in voluntary and business endeavours for many years.
At the moment in addition to being a partner in a family business and an artist, Lija is also a director and treasurer of Wiltshire Makers CIC and volunteers with Tax Help for Older People. Previous roles include trustee and treasurer of Footprints Project, and Chair of Salisbury Young Professionals.
Lija loves the idea of slow and simple life amidst the everyday bustle, heritage crafts, traditions passed down generations, and all things natural and homemade. Artistic endeavours begun at a very early age, and although Lija was the youngest to be admitted to 'Saules Skola' School of Design and Art (Latvia), ultimately her interest in art lay outside of academia. Lija pursued a degree in Mathematics (MMath) from Durham University and a Graduate Diploma in Finance, Accounting and Business from Newcastle University, all whilst exhibiting, organising shows and events. Lija has exhibited in the UK from the age of 16 and is at present a member of the Plain Arts Salisbury.
